Biography

Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi is a consultant otolaryngologist who sees private patients at Royal Brompton Hospital.

He completed his higher surgical training in ear, nose and throat (ENT) in the London North Thames regional rotation. 

During his training, he developed an interest in laryngology (throat disorders) with a particular interest in airway stenosis (narrowing of the airway) and dysphagia (swallowing disorders). He visited various international centres including a visiting fellowship at UC Davis Center for Voice and Swallowing, in Sacramento, USA.

Clinical expertise

Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi has clinical expertise in:

  • general adult and children ENT - sinusitis, nasal obstruction, recurrent sore throat, hearing disorders, ear infections
  • voice disorders
  • swallowing disorders
  • adult airway stenosis (narrowing of the airway)
  • paediatric obstructive sleep apnoea
  • paediatric snoring
  • paediatric swallowing disorders and chronic aspiration
  • paediatric airway stenosis.

Research interests

Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi holds a PhD in molecular oncology from the Queen Mary University of London with a special research interest in oncolytic viruses in head and neck cancers. In addition, he has an active clinical research program in voice, airway and swallowing disorders in adults and children. 

Teaching

Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi is involved in organising and teaching on various study days run by the British Laryngological Association.

Publications

Mr Chadwan Al Yaghchi has written numerous papers, book chapters, national guidelines and invited reviews.
