Biography

Dr Julian Collinson is a senior consultant cardiologist at the Royal Brompton Hospital, where he treats both private and NHS patients. 

He studied medicine at King's College London and graduated in 1992, going on to complete his general training in Manchester.  Following this, Dr Collinson trained in the prestigious North West Thames region, and specialised in cardiology at the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

In 2000, he was awarded his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Imperial College London for his medical research into the epidemiology and management of acute coronary syndromes (angina and heart attacks).

Dr Collinson also works as a consultant cardiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He was clinical lead for cardiology there for a number of years and led on the development of the cardiac catheterisation service at the Trust. He is the clinical director for medical specialities at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

In particular, he has contributed to publications on angina, valvular heart disease and heart failure.
