Biography

Professor Nick Oliver graduated from Imperial College in 1999 and is Wynn Professor of Metabolism at Imperial College. He has been a consultant diabetologist and physician at Imperial College Healthcare since 2010 and is an honorary consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He began working at the Royal Brompton Hospital in 2019. 

Clinical expertise

Professor Nick Oliver's clinical interest is in the management of diabetes, especially the use of diabetes technologies including closed-loop systems (artificial pancreas), continuous glucose sensing, and diabetes prevention. In type 1 diabetes care established services, he provides insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring including implanted devices and intraperitoneal insulin delivery. 

Research Interests

Professor Nick Oliver leads a clinical research group investigating the application of technologies to diabetes, including novel devices and how artificial intelligence can be used to support people living with type 1 diabetes. 

Publications

Professor Nick Oliver has extensively published in clinical diabetes journals, has authorised and edited books on diabetes and technologies, and regularly presents new data at International conferences.
