Mr Maziar Mireskandari is a consultant vascular surgeon who sees private patients at Royal Brompton Hospital and 77 Wimpole Street.
He qualified in medicine from the University of Leeds, with his doctorate of medicine (MD) including a research project in vascular surgery.
He then trained as a vascular surgeon in London and has been a consultant since 2008. In 2015, he joined the Trust from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Since then, he has performed the Trust’s first complex stent for extensive aortic aneurysms. He also ran the Trust’s first simulation training course in aortic valve and aortic pathology stenting in 2016.
Mr Maziar Mireskandari is an expert in open and endovascular minimally invasive surgery for complex aortic disease. This includes:
- occlusive disease.
His other interests include minimally invasive varicose vein surgery, and his techniques reduce the length of hospital stay and post-operative recovery time for patients.
Mr Maziar Mireskandari is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He attends regular academic meetings in the UK, Europe and America.
